The bad news is, moonlighting has come to an end.

The GOOD news is that I’ve moved to a new blog, Make and Deux, along with my friend Paula, formerly of ‘Rum Punch‘ fame. Not much is changing, and all the old posts from here are coming with me. Only now, it’s two for the price of one.

The team over at ImprovEverywhere.com have just released a new video where they perform a spontaneous musical number in the fruit section of an American supermarket.The reaction of the guy at the end is hilarious, summing it up perfectly. “They just totally turned it into a musical. Life – they turned life into a musical!”

Friday Night Lights, one of the most underappreciated and best television shows on air at the moment, kicks off its fourth season kicks off in the US on DirecTV on October 28th and a batch of promo videos and photos have surfaced online. After last season’s game-changing finale I’m eager to see where the producers will go with the new season, which will likely split its time between East Dillon High and Dillon High.

I’ve always loved watching notoriously bad films but never really found the time or, well, a valid reason to actually sit down and watch them. But now, with no college on Wednesdays and a group of comrades willing to suffer with me, I can finally get around to watching some of the tackiest, most ludicrous and dire hours of my life. I’m hoping that most of them will fall into the ‘so bad it’s good’ category.

Peter Jackson’s adaptation of “The Lovely Bones” hits cinemas this December. The book, written by Alice Sebold, tells the story of Susie Salmon, a young girl who is raped and murdered. The book was controversial upon its release for its subject matter, especially in the fact that it describes Susie’s rape in detail.

The New Moon soundtrack has leaked online, and as the roster of bands announced before its release suggested, it’s really quite an exciting one.

One of the new US television season’s biggest hits has been musical comedy series Glee. Each week at least three songs are featured on the show, and this week’s batch have just hit the internets.

This week there’s four tracks, all, as usual, covers of well-known songs.

Vampire Weekend’s first single, Horchata, from forthcoming album Contra turned up online on Monday as a free download from their official website.

The track is named after what Wikipedia refers to as “several kinds of traditional beverages, made of ground almonds, sesame seeds, rice, barley or tigernuts (chufas).” Doesn’t sound too appetising as a drink but as a piece of music I actually quite like it.

It’s not too far removed from the stuff we’re used to from the group’s self-titled debut album, and it’s a nice upbeat track that builds into a drum-filled crescendo while giving us a bit of strings and such along the way for good measure.

If the rest of the album sounds anything like this, then I’m looking forward to hearing it when it’s released on 11th January, or indeed whenever it all leaks online.
